The History of Town

Municipality of Dumalag is one of the rural areas in the province of Capiz, located in the southern interior portion of the province, it is bounded in the north but the Municipalities of Mambusao, Sigma and Dao. On Northwest, by the Municipalities of Cuartero, on the last by the Southwest, by the Municipality of Bingowan Iloilo and the South by the Municipality of Tapaz, it exact location is at coordinates 1 degrees, 18 minutes and 4 second in North latitude. Municipality of Dumalag is compose of 19 baranggays with a total land area of 10, 979 hectares has.The barangay names are  Conception, Consolacion, Dolores , Duran, San Agustin, San Jose, San Martin, San Miguel , San Rafael, San Roque, Santa Carmen, Santa Cruz, Santa Monica, Santa Rita, Santa Teresa ,Santo Angel, Santo NiƱo, Santo Rosario,Poblacion.It has a population rate of 33,920 people and 892 household according to the 2010 census. Dumalag is endowed with human & natural resources. One of the natural resources the Dumalag has is their famous Suhot Cave and Spring, it is located at he Brgy. Dolores a kilometer far from the municipality  building.Besides of this Suhot Cave and Spring the Dumalagnon has a beautiful church as well. It is constructed by Spaniards 2 century ago.The church is made by limestone and has a 13 bells.Dumalag is far from the city but despite of this Dumalagnon  were happy because they live in simple but elegant town.
